Hi! I'm Julie B

Are you like me? I went into marriage with the best of intentions of doing it well. Doing it differently than my parents and making life with Jay a friendship, a partnership and the safe space I’d dreamed marriage could be. Then real life kicked in and we realized it was going to take a lot more than good intentions to make our marriage something special. Marriage on the Daily is designed to be the toolbox of resources I wish I’d had in the beginning.

My passion for marriage and family stems from experiencing the divorce of my parents which was devastating to me. I also have worked with couples throughout my career who had perfectly good marriages yet were willing to throw in the towel and call it quits. I realized that people want to be successful in their marriage, but often only try what they know when they get sideways with each other, and that usually isn’t helpful.

Marriage on the Daily is designed to give you tools and encouragement to do marriage well on the daily. Because here’s the truth – it isn’t the big, grand gestures that make your marriage work. It’s what you do or don’t do, day in and day out, that will either build a strong foundation or slowly chip away at your core.

You can do this! And, I’m here to help.

What Makes a Happy Couple

Both my husband, Jay, and I come from families where marriage didn’t last. His parents divorced when he was just 9. My parents waited until I was heading off to college.

The most jarring part of their divorce was how blindsided I felt.
